The magnatron tube died 22 after 22 months of use

This microwave is a high end product. The magnatron tube is the heart of the microwave and it died after only 22 months of use. Bosch provides only a 1 year warranty. The repair cost is over 80% of the original cost of the unit. Over the 40 years we have owned a variety of microwaves, this is the only microwave we have owned that ever had this type of failure. I am hoping that Bosch will provide some compensation for its sub-standard product.

This is a very nice unit. It has bright lighting and a quiet fan. Two things I wish would be added: 1. The timer volume needs to be able to be adjusted much louder. 2. More options added on the sensor reheat function. ie. Vegetable Soup Meat Sauces Pasta

We have yet to use the convection feature of this microwave, but the vent option and the normal operation of the microwave work perfectly. Like all of our other Bosch appliances, it is very well built. Everything about it screams quality. Looking forward to using more of the oven features for larger meal preparations.

A Very Disappointing Purchase

Really disappointed in the service as well as the microwave. It takes forever to get an appointment. These are brand new appliances. The technician says there is nothing to do to fix the vent fan or the end of cycle and timer volume. The vent fan is useless, very little suction. It is vented to the outside. The kitchen timer and end of cycle tone is very low. You can be standing right in front of it and can't hear it. The volume can't be adjusted. It is either on or off.

So dissapointed for the money!

We bought this microwave because with the Bosch name we expected an above average product. I was verry dissapointed with the simple features that it doesn't have. 1. The buzzer is very quiet and there apparently is no way to adjust the volume. There is no way to halt the cooking, check the food and continue cooking without trusting the interlock to stop the microwave energy. A STOP button would have been a better option. 2. My previous microwave had the option of reducing or increasing the cooking time in 10 seconds. I used this option frequently and expected an oven with the Bosch name to have a similar feature. 3. It is nice that there are many built in programs, but it is not worth the time to get out the book to learn how to key in these programs whenever I want to use one. As a result I just do it my own way. 4. The program to soften ice cream is worthless and the program to defrost frozen food isn't much better. The stainless interior is very easy to clean and the oven has plenty of power. Would buy this microwave again? Absolutely NOT.

Great alternative for a second oven

I purchased this microwave/convection oven in order to have a second oven without sacrificing space in a relatively small kitchen. While I wouldn't want to use it as my primary oven, it is great for heating casseroles, baking cookies, keeping things warm when I have a houseful of guests. As a microwave on a daily basis, it works great and I am very pleased with my purchase.

Blew out and not even 4 years old

Unit began tripping the circuit breaker. A few days ago, it totally blew. An electrician found the end of plug is actually burnt. The outlet is fine after testing with another item. Oven option never did get to a temp to actually cook anything. This has been a total disappointment and from other poor reviews with similar issues, this product is a waste of your money.

We replaced oue old built in microwave and the old vent fan with the Bosch Benchmark. The fan is MUCH quieter than the old fan and the microwave also serves as a convection oven allowing us to baks two potatoes without turnibg on the big oven. We now have a kitchen that gives us more space and is better looking and serves us better than what we had before

My Bosch OTR microwave/convection oven performance is outstanding...design-wise, I wish the keyboard panel backlight was brighter and the font larger. (Benchmark Range I purchased is the same). I have to keep a flashlight nearby to read panel sometimes. Also, when using convection, the cook time does not display so I have no idea of "countdown " time

Bad Customer Service Experience

I have remodelled my kitchen and replaced all working GE appliances to Bosch. For the most part, it is working fine except for over the counter microwave. It broke down three times just after the warranty period. The third time, I decided to buy a new one instead of spending money on fixing. It started breaking even during the warranty period and continued after the warranty period. So in September 2020, I called customer service and asked them to replace the unit. On November 12, 2020, I was told that the management had approved the exchange. After my continuous follow-up, they finally got it installed on 2/1/2021. For almost five months, we didn't have a microwave, no lights on the cooking range, and no exhaust. I don't think this company is interested in the home appliances business. For the entire bay area, they only have one technician.

The microwave looks great in our kitchen and cooks all very well. Love the defrost function where you can choose what type of food you are defrosting. It works great and doesn't cook the meat as it defrosts. Very pretty interior of the microwave too. Cleans up easily as well.

I bought one in 2017. Just after a year, it broke twice within two months. The second time, the replacement part was on backorder with no word on availability. I decided to buy another piece to match other Bosch appliances in the kitchen. Big mistake. Again after a year, it broke down four times. I am not just saying about one bad piece, it is just a bad product. Saty away.
