The range hood I purchased did not come with the mandatory charcoal filter for recirculating ventilation. I was told the find a filter at the GE website. There was NO clarification of which model number for the proper filter needed. The only choice I noted was this filter model # JXCF72 which I ordered. This charcoal filter was not the correct one and did not fit. I had to email customer service for help. I was told the correct model number for the filter I needed and had to return the first.
It would have been so helpful if the CORRECT filter model number was printed on the instruction pamphlet. Even better would be listing in the first place that a separate filter would be needed when ordering the range hood and exactly which filter model number would be needed.

Hi I purchased this Range Hood a year ago, didn't read all the reviews with the same issue. Shame on me!!! Installed the Range anyway while the filters is not supplied when ordered tried to order them they are never in stock and you can not find these filters anywhere!!! I spent countless time with Customer Service with no results and no alternative a bunch of run around speaking to people in different departments. Why would you continue to sell a product that cannot perform correctly or you don't make the proper accessories for this model to perform efficiently???

I purchased the charcoal filters JXCF72 and they do not fit. Where can I find the correct size filters? I would not buy the ductless range hood as it does not come with filters and finding the correct ones seem impossible.

I recently purchased and installed the GE range hood (JVW5301). The hood was easily installed and looks great. However, the charcoal filter for the chimney when used as non-duct needed to be purchased separately. I ordered the filter pack of 2 as recommended for the hood. When I received the filters, they had been replaced by a substituted filter, which were much larger than the dimensions of the hood. Subsequently, the filters are worthless since they will not fit the hood as recommended by GE. I tried calling their ™parts™ telephone number and am still waiting on an answer to my query.

Extremely disappointed. Ordered these directly from the GE parts website. They shipped promptly. However, when received, these filters were literally wrapped in just plain brown paper, in a plain box, with no documentation or instructions, charcoal dust all over inside of package. These weren't wrapped in plastic, meaning the charcoal had already been exposed to air/activated for who knows how long. I believe the ones I received were not OEM parts, or, these had been returned by someone and resold. Very unfortunate experience with the GE parts website.
