I have had repair companies out to fix the machine four times and still GE refused to replace or refund my money. Do Not use GE. I have several rentals and GE is the only company that doesn™€™t stand by what they make.

The first machine was installed and the dryer didn't work. Waited 1 week for GE Tech. He said he had to order a new part. I asked if it was a minor fix and he said NO! I said I wanted a new machine. I wasn't going to start with repairs on a brand-new machine that was never used. The 2nd one didn't get past the wash cycle before shutting off. Never went to rinse or spin. So, I had to manually remove the water from the basket and wait again for a new delivery. The third one appears to work as I did 2 loads of laundry yesterday. But 2 duds from GE.

Bought from Home Depot for our lake house. Did not try to install until about 5 days after delivery, which is outside the return window for Home Depot. Dryer does not work at all. Everything is installed properly. Nothing happens when we click the dryer start button. So disappointed and am out $1500.

I never write a review for anything so this is how bad this has gotten. I am here to express my serious frustration and dissatisfaction with my dryer, which has caused thousands of dollars in damage to my clothing and continues to do so despite multiple repair attempts. The core issue is that any garment containing a drawstring gets caught in the drum, twisted, and either ripped or severely damaged beyond repair. Given that drawstrings are a standard feature on a significant portion of everyday clothing (hoodies, sweatpants, jackets, shorts) this is not a minor inconvenience. This is a fundamental design flaw that makes the appliance unfit for its intended purpose. When I contacted customer support, I was told to air dry my clothes or use a dryer bag. That is completely unacceptable. I purchased a dryer to dry my clothes. Advising me to work around a dangerous defect rather than fixing it is not a solution it™€™s an admission that the product doesn™€™t work as advertised. To make matters worse, a service technician has been dispatched to my home twice, and yet the damage has continued without interruption. I have received no resolution, no compensation for my destroyed clothing, and no accountability. I™€™d give this product zero stars if I could. I will never purchase another GE product again.

Horrible build quality

I would give it zero stars if possible. The THIRD unit I have had delivered and installed in less than a month broke today AGAIN. The first one didn't last 10 minutes, was broken on arrival with a horrible grinding sound. The second one lasted 5 days until its drum just let go in the middle of the spin cycle and started slamming against the inside panels of the unit like it was in self destruct mode. Now the 3rd one is doing the same thing after 6 days. Got a sudden horrible burning rubber smell and then it got stuck in the middle of a cycle and lights just stayed on doing nothing for 10 minutes. I pulled the small load out (literally only 2 small towels) and got it to drain thankfully. Left it off for 30 minutes. Started a cycle again and it went to spin and started slamming the drum against the inside of itself again like the second one!!! This is horrible build quality. Both times these were SMALL loads of a few shirts/pants or a couple towels. Zero excuse for this. Stay FAR FAR away from these units! We are getting our money back asap and making the place we bought it from haul it away to the dump where it belongs.

I™€™ve had this washer and dryer stacked set for almost 6 years now and I™€™ve never had an issue with it. I™€™ve never had to call maintenance. Performance for clothes is 4.5/5 - performance for washing blankets 3/5 (I have to wash my blankets twice, but it™€™s common due to the size of the washer). Overall, clothes capacity is great. Noise is ok. And washing is awesome and convenient. This set is definitely reliable and highly recommended! Especially for small apartments

I don't like that it is gone electronic I like the old fashioned way of just turning it to what I wanted to do and it does it This unit is programmed to do things just a certain way, Also I dis add the Wi-fi control Control is no longer available. I am a tech person I started using a computer back in the 80s when it was DOS but this electronic unit If you know options other than what you have provided and trying to tell it I just want to rinse it just freezes doesn't do anything I have to keep playing with it to get it to do it and that with also other settings.

The dryer handle will continue to break on you. I™€™ve replaced my 3 times in the last 4 years. It™€™s not the best decision to put a handle that just snaps in. The plastic pieces break off way too easy for this to be considered an industrial washer/dryer.

Right now I am not happy with your product. Just got it yesterday. When we went to use the dryer it is making so much noise had to shut it off. Something is rubbing inside. I had to call for a service call. They cannot come until tomorrow. Now I am stuck with a load of wet clothes. Very disappointing! I have a brand new washer and dryer and cannot use it. Not a good start with your product.

Poor performance and warranty

I have had the machine for 12 months and of course it stopped woking as 1 year warranty expires. During wash it doesn™€™t drain and clothes are wet and soapy. Called GE customer service and they could help me. Offered a number to one of their appliances vendors for repairs and they don™€™t call back. My previous Kenmore Elite set lasted over 16 years. GE needs to make a better and longer lasting product or extend warranty if the products won™€™t last longer than a year. Now it costs a fortune to fix. I don™€™t recommend product.

Just right for older couples. Easy access, no need to squat down to retrieve clothes from washer. Controls are at convenient level. Some may find the sound of operation a little loud, no problem if in a closet. Capacity is fine for older adults. Cleans very well. Cycles are seem a bit long but not a big problem. Overall, this stacked washer dryer combo has been a good performer. Clothes come out much cleaner than our previous old washer. The dryer is also much more efficient and dries at least 30% faster than the old one, saving money on gas usage. It would be nice to have a light in the dryer like my old one, but the overall efficiency outweighs this small drawback.

My new stack washer and dryer was installed by professionals. They were polite, quick and knew what they were doing. They even gave me time to clean under the old unit when they removed it before they brought in the new. I like that the capacity is much larger than my old one. It has more than enough cycles and it gets my clothes clean. Only thing wrong is the noise it makes during the wash cycle. It's very noisy but I'll get used to it.

Our previous set was also GE. We got 11 years of heavy use out of it. What I love is you don't have to get on the floor or bend over to get clothes out of the washer or dryer. We bought the model that was closest to our old one because we liked it so much .

Gets the job done

Love a gas laundry unit, as it uses less energy than an electric laundry unit - yay, lower utility bills! Our new machine has a large capacity; almost 4 and 6 cubic feet for the washer and dryer, respectively. We can wash king-size sheets in one load, no problem. The installation was quick, although a little disappointing (hence losing one star). We had to reschedule to upgrade our gas line, which we were unaware was an issue. Also, the unit arrived damaged, and the delivery men said it wasn't repairable. So, we were given two weeks to decide if we wanted a complete exchange or get a $300 store credit. We ran the machine about ten times before confirming the damage wasn't causing major issues. The washer is loud because it has an agitator, which means it really turns your laundry so it gets a good scrub. Haven't noticed any tears or unnecessary wear to our clothes or linens. The washer isn't as loud, but the door needs a good slam in order to shut. Maybe that will get easier over time? (lost another star) The dials are easy to use, but be mindful, when you press "Start", it doesn't say "Yes ma'am!" You have to be patient because it's a computer. It takes time to think, and not as quickly as high-speed internet. Don't let this deter you, but had to mention it because it frustrates my impatient wife. :) Overall, it gives us great satisfaction that we have clean laundry within a few hours. We do about 4 loads in a day, once a week.

Washer is great / dryer is a disappointment

I really wanted to love this set. The washer is excellent™€"easy to use, great range of settings, and it spins so much water out that clothes come out almost dry. No complaints there. The dryer, on the other hand, is a serious letdown. It does not heat. My first GE Spacemaker - purchased in AUG 2025 - had this problem, and the store replaced it. The second unit has the exact same issue. I have done my best to make sure the issue is not with my set up - checked connections, professionally cleaned dryer vent. All to no avail. Technically, yes. Clothes come out of the dryer dry. However, if you plan to wash your pet bedding and dry it on high setting ... this is not the dryer for you. Two defective machines in a row is unacceptable for a brand-new appliance. For the price and brand, I expected reliability, not repeated failures. Very disappointed and would not recommend the GE Spacemaker.

So far so good! My parents had this set and it's great for smaller spaces. I used a super bulky item like the mattress quilted cover and it washed it, no problem (I have the larger version of the W/D).

I am very impressed with this product. I in particular like the design and lighting in the front; it looks very modern and clean. The various wash and dry options are great, and the machine runs beautifully. No complaints at all. Can™€™t go wrong with this product. It gets the job done!

In a word disgust. In 2 words bitter disgust. I guess I figured I'm buying a brand new appliance for the 1st time in my life and I'm 42 years old "how awesome!"... wrong. How dare you put an automatic drain if I leave the lid up BECAUSE WHY?? Because y'all decided nobody needs a soak function. Which is fine I'll just leav- oh that's right. Expletive expletive expletive. I'm making this review because of the 500$ possibility of which you more than owe me in the amount of time, detergent and hot water just wasted....that's the clincher that makes this ridiculous function so egregious. There are entire countries without clean water, there's a dang city in AMERICA with no clean water and here your product is, without command, need or desire just flipping the biggest bird to all those who likely risk their lives water not half as clean as this for half as much. How dare you make this unable to opt out of this. It serves no purpose. And if you are thinking oh we are saving people from their forgotten laundry molding ....no you are not the clothes are still gonna be wet long before they could avoid that. Why in God's name did you do this? It's turned my 1st major adult purchase into the Bain of my existence. Im sure a 1 star won't win this supposed random sweepstakes but just in case it's the least you can do
